Paul Lally, Chairman of the Stretford and Urmston Conservative Association and Flixton ward candidate in the 2026 Trafford local elections, has criticised Trafford Council’s Labour leadership for failing to take meaningful action on dog fouling across the borough.
Figures released in response to a Freedom of Information request reveal that despite hundreds of complaints from residents, enforcement remains virtually non-existent. In several years, not a single Fixed Penalty Notice was issued for dog fouling offences, raising concerns about whether or not the Council is concerned by the issue.
Paul said:
“Residents are fed up. Dog fouling is not just unsightly—it is a health hazard, especially for children and vulnerable people. Labour-run Trafford Council continues to ignore the problem, and the numbers speak for themselves. We need proactive enforcement against dog fouling to help clean up our parks and streets.
“Residents are also able to report dog fouling to Trafford Council at Dog fouling”
