Chris has been a Party member for more than 20 years and served as a Trafford Councillor in Brooklands for more than 10 years, and was in 2022–23 Mayor of the Borough.
Service to the Community has for almost all his life been a passion, dating back to his university days when he started a Saturday morning Youth Club for local children at his Hall of Residence. Joining a Rotary Club in 1983, motto “Service above Self”, Chris has been continuously active since at Club, District and National level.
He has been a Governor at Sale High School and at Brooklands Primary School for over 10 years and was for many years Trafford’s ‘Appointed’ Governor at the Manchester NHS Foundation Trust Hospital Group
He is a founder member of The Friends of Moor Nook Park and sits on the Sale Moor Community Centre Committee and has also been involved in the Sale West Community Hub
In his spare time Chris has been active in local sport particularly Squash at Sale Rugby Club where he is a Vice President and also at Sale Golf Club serving for 14 years as Hon Secretary and then Chairman, and as President in 2020 – 2022. He is also currently President of Sale Photographic Society.
